ALC sells 17 aircraft in its second quarter

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) closed off its second quarter having sold 17 aircraft, comprising a 16 aircraft portfolio sold to Thunderbolt Leasing and one aircraft sold to Blackbird Capital.

In the lessor’s activity update for its second quarter, it also revealed it had delivered eight new aircraft including  three Boeing 737-800s, one Boeing 787-9, one Airbus A320neo, one Airbus A321ceo and two Airbus A321neos.

Turning to orders, ALC signed a MoU with Boeing for 12 new MAX aircraft at the Paris Air Show 2017, excersised an option for 12 additional A321neos with Airbus and placed an order for 50 CFM LEAP-1A engines for 25 of its A320neos.

The lessor’s portfolio comprises 240 owned aircraft and 48 managed aircraft.

ALC also repaid its $1.1 billion senior notes at 5.625% maturity, amended a £3.7 billion unsecured credit facility and issued a new $600 million unsecured senior note bond due 2022.
