United defers first A350 deliveries

United Airlines has deferred delivery of its first four Airbus A350-1000s out of 2018.

The deferral was announced in the airlines second quarter performance update. The airlines first A350s are now looking to deliver in 2019.

This follows comments from the American carrier in Febuary saying that is was considering alternatives to its order of 35 A350s to replace its ageing Boeing 747 widebody fleet.

Alongside this, United has also bought forward the delivery of 12 737 MAX and two 787-10 aircraft into 2019. It also reiterated that it will take delivery of its first 100 737 MAX 10s that it ordered at the Paris Air Show this year in late 2020.
