AviaAM delivers one A321 to Aeroflot

Warsaw-based lessor AviaAM Leasing China has delivered one Airbus A321 to Russian airline Aeroflot, the fifth of an eight aircraft sale and leaseback agreement.

Four of the aircraft have been delivered so far this year. DLA Piper provided legal assistance on the agreement.

The deal has been established as part of China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ investment drive to boost China’d domestic growth and global influence.

Domas Girtavicius, CEO of AviaAM Financial Leasing China said: “China‘s One Belt One Road policy has encouraged a number of business transactions between China and Eurasian nations. Our Joint venture with Chinese state owned investment group HNCA is also a successful example of this trend. Sino-European Joint venture finance companies are now emerging as a new way to finance aircraft acquisitions due to favourable access to funding in China.”

This is also reinforced by AviaAM’s chariman Tadas Goberis, who commented: “Volumes of air transportation between the CIS and China continue to grow as countries engage in new partnerships in the fields of trade and tourism. We are happy to support the expansion of the leading carrier’s operations with ex-factory aircraft.”

The newly delivered aircraft is outfitted in a dual-class configuration with 16 business class and 167 economy seats and is looking to start operations immediately.
