Air Transat leases 10 new A321neos

Canadian Leisure Airline Air Transat has entered into an agreement with AerCap to lease 10 new Airbus A321neo LRs for a 12-year term.

Air Transat is one of the first carriers to fly the new long-range neo option.

The A321neo LRs will replace Transat’s ageing fleet of A310s which will be phased out of its fleet.

The aircraft are set to be delivered to the carrier between spring 2019 and fall 2020 where they willl be placed on transatlantic routes and Sun destinations.

Jean-Marc Eustache, president and CEO of Transat said: “The A321neo LRs will perfectly complete our fleet of A330s and B737s.

“These aircraft are also an ideal solution for replacing our A310s. This agreement with AerCap will allow us to continue offering our customers the service and comfort they are used to, at the best possible price. We are very pleased to strengthen our partnership with the world’s leading aircraft lessor, with which we have enjoyed a fruitful and long-standing association.”
